Proverbs for New Internet Marketers – Part Two

Businesswoman inside light bulbHaving completed my previous article, other useful proverbs and sayings came flooding into my mind. In the light of that I felt that a second dose was called for. Here, therefore, is part two of my proverbial advice especially aimed at new marketers.
“Look before you leap”

The need to research thoroughly before launching a particular campaign has been written about and spoken about so many times, ever since the advent of Internet Marketing. The online marketplace is huge which gives a marketer amazing opportunities to earn a very good income indeed. However, the size of the marketplace is so massive that your campaign is likely to get lost in the crowd unless you find ways to stand out from that crowd.

Only through in depth research can you find a niche of hungry people with a need or a problem. Only through research can you produce or find a really high quality product which meets those needs or problems within your particular niche. Only through research can you present your product to the right people with the right impact and in the right way; “Look before you leap”.

“A job well planned is a job half done”

This proverb fits beautifully with much of what has been written and spoken about Internet Marketing. Planning is so crucial in all aspects of online business and if the planning is done thoroughly and conscientiously the application of the business becomes so much more straight-forward. We are told repeatedly to create a plan and then TAKE ACTION – SEE IT THROUGH. If you have effectively done half the work before you actually get to launch your product or service then business is inevitably going to be less of a problem; – “A job well planned is a job half done”.

“Fail to plan and you are planning to fail”

This quote from Benjamin Franklin has been absorbed into our language and now has the status of a proverb. This obviously links very easily with the two proverbs above. Franklin was pointing out the necessity of planning ahead if we are to succeed. If we don’t take those essential preparatory steps then failure is, to all intents and purposes, programmed into whatever we are doing; – “Fail to plan and you are planning to fail”.

“Nothing succeeds like success”

There is nothing quite like switching on your computer to discover that you have made a sale. This is especially true for those new to the business. It is a terrific boost to confidence after all the blood, sweat and tears which has probably gone into setting up the business. The motivation which comes from making a sale (especially if it is your first sale) cannot be overestimated. Even if the sale only puts a few pounds or dollars into your account it is proof that the business works. With the sale will come a boost of confidence and self-belief which will carry you on to double your efforts and press forward in your business; – “Nothing succeeds like success”.
