The customer is always right

p0320186It doesn’t take anyone new to internet marketing long to come to the realisation that the List (Customer Database) is a core issue of any online business. The importance of drawing potential customers to your list and retaining them cannot be overstated. There are a number of tactics that can be applied to achieve this but I won’t deal with them here. The purpose of this article is to explore the way we treat customers or potential customers once they have subscribed to our list.

If we simply forget about our subscribers until we have a sales-pitch to fire at them they will forget about us or unsubscribe. It is rather like forming a friendship; we keep in regular contact with information emails, links to videos and articles, etc, things which they will find helpful and of interest. When we have a specific business venture with which to approach our list our subscribers are far more likely to be interested if it comes from a source with whom they feel they have established a rapport. We have shown an interest in them so they are more likely to show an interest in us and what we have to offer.

Treat your customers with respect at all times. The old saying: “The customer is always right” is well worth bearing in mind. Always provide what you promise and be prepared to respond quickly and fully to any queries from your list members. Internet marketers who think of their list subscribers purely as “punters” and treat them as such will find it exceedingly difficult to build a significant list and even more difficult to sell to what list they manage to maintain.

With all your products always offer a 100% unconditional refund and never quibble over this. If a customer is unhappy with a product for some reason, any reason, give them their money back without hesitation; – no questions asked. That customer will respect you for it and may well come back for a different product at a later date as they will know that they can trust you: – that your word is your bond!

If you have a list of people with whom you have built a relationship, people who trust you and respect you then your chances of selling to that list is greatly enhanced. Keep that regular contact with your list by the use of an Autoresponder which can enable you to easily send out titbits of information and items of interest to every single person on your list any time you want. The internet is an enormous workplace packed with all kinds of information and products from many different sources. Establishing a close link with your list will make it less likely that they will be lured away by other marketers; that they will stick with the offers that you send out from time to time.

So, look after the subscribers on your list. As I wrote above, if you take an interest in them they will take an interest in you and what you have to offer. They are vital to the success of your internet business. Treat them well and they will reciprocate.
