I began this Blog back in August and have gained great satisfaction from sharing my knowledge, researching information to include and actually writing the articles. I have learnt a lot in the process myself so I hope my regular readers have found my musings beneficial. They say that the best way to learn any subject is to teach it. That is most definitely true!
My research has taught me one thing above all else, that Internet Marketing is a very straight-forward business. The business plan created in the early days, fifteen or so years ago, has never been bettered. Certainly new technology has come along to make running a business online more sophisticated, but the basics are unchanged. The “Three Steps” of internet marketing are still widely quoted by writers on the subject and provide the underlying bedrock to the information imparted by many top marketers at seminars & boot camps.
- Find your ‘niche’ with a marketplace of hungry potential customers with a burning desire for information on that niche.
- Build a list of subscribers from within that group.
- Provide the information they are looking for.
That is the simple plan. The plan is simple but making it work is rather more demanding and requires quite a bit of research and self-education to turn that plan into a thriving internet business. If you have a clear focus as to why you are doing it and what you hope to gain from a business online, it becomes a question of perseverance and research to realise your dream. “Anything worth doing is worth doing well,” says the proverb. With internet marketing, doing it well is really the only way. If you don’t, can’t or are not prepared to make the effort to do it well, it is highly unlikely to work for you. Over the last few months I have written about a variety of topics related to internet marketing. In the New Year my resolution is to keep writing and keep researching for further information to share. I shall be launching a couple of new products of my own in the New Year so watch out for announcements about them. The first of these will be a manual on internet marketing made up of a selection of my articles from various sources; the other is a DVD set for which I have international distribution rights.
